307 LEARNERS AND CHILDREN REACHED SINCE 2019
2019 – 100 learners reached through formal programmes and structured interventions
2020 – 207 learners and children reached as part of the Covid-19 support initiatives
The pilot project and proof of concept commenced in February 2019 to test the viability of the programme and the continued existence of the organisation. Activities for the year included secondary initiatives designed to support the learning process and to add value to the LAG service offering. This work also provided the opportunity to assess the programme’s potential for success, areas to improve, and to define a roadmap towards a fully sustainable organisation. Following the successful 2019 pilot project and achievements, the management remains fully committed to the vision and goals.
The 2020 Programme was halted in March following the national lockdown. The management took a decision to focus on the learner support initiatives, as part of the Covid-19 response strategy. The following highlights and impact were achieved between June and November.
Donations in the form of clothes, gas stove, OpenView decoder, books, stationery, and non-perishable food items received from generous individuals, were distributed in Orange Farm and Kliptown.
